    Wannabe inching closer

Congratulations! You're going to really enjoy it. I have several other cookers but the FEC is still my favorite. Edit: I added a vent onto mine to help manage wind blowing into the exhaust. I got a 5" model from Home Depot that was an exhaust cap for a hot water heater.

    Pellet Grills

Considering that I currently own three different pellet cookers my opinion isn't exactly unbiased! Personally I appreciate the efficiency of my insulated Fec which burns about a half pound per hour in the 225-250 range. My Traeger, which I started with does a good job but is more of hog when it...

    Sunday afternoon ribs

Taste test thoughts.... Mixon- were hotter than I preferred but had a good taste and flavor. I will try it again and cut the heat. Lilly-- were good but just seemed to be missing that one key ingredient, a touch of garlic or oregano may help this rub. Mine sauced--- I'm just not a sauce person...

21 hour Butt, No Foil. Q-View

Looks pretty good to me. I have foiled a few times but I like my bark too much to do it unless I have to.

    Sunday afternoon ribs

Cooked 4 racks today....3 BB's and 1 STL cut. I'm trying one based upon a recipe in Myron Mixon's book and another with a recipe out of Chris Lilly's. Thought I would see how they compare to my own side by side. I know that they aren't really sharing any secrets but I got the books for my...
