    Just got my 3" Smoker thermometers in.

    Mavrick, I have two of the 2 inch thermos from KCK mounted at grill level on my SnP Pro. I tested them both with boiling water before installing them and they were both right on. I would also recommend these to anyone not wanting to shell out the big dollars for a Tru-Temp. Regards,

    Stainless Steel Cleaner

    I'll second the recommendation for Bar Keeper's Friend. I've been using it in my brewery for years. It's made with oxalic acid, so it cleans and passivates the stainless in one step.

    what wood for salmon

    Alder is a perfect wood for smoking salmon or steelhead. I like to soak it in a brine first and then let it dry until a whitish caul forms on the surface.

    I've used the Brinkmann cover on my SNPP since I got it 14 years ago. With using the cover and an annual coat of high temp stove paint, it's still lookin good. I also bought the firebox liner to help prevent burnout. My firebox is still solid. I do not leave the firebox full of ashes and I think...
