    30" MES Stainless - Black Friday SALE!

    Seasoning my 411 model as I write. Only problem I have found is it seems to run about 25 degrees hotter than what the digital control is telling me. Compared to my Poland digital thermometer that I have confermed is dead on. Anybody else have this "Problem"?

    4 full racks of Ribs on a UDS... Will they fit?

    I have two racks. I meant to say, I need to fit 4 racks of ribs on each rack I'm thinking maybe I could try to prop them up with skewers.....Maybe.

    Drip pan in the Drum?

    Buffalo, The horizontal Smoker is a New Braunsfels that I bought about 10 years ago. I don't use it much anymore since I built the UDS. The UDS is way more full efficient.

    I am thinking of adding a drip pan too on my UDS. The family seemed to like the "mellower" taste that the pork had from my mini WSM. Anybody have any pics of the pan mod. Kevin

    Ok, got my drum last night...any last minute pointers?

    Not to stir the pot, but while I was at Walmart today, I looked at a ECB smoker and the inside of the smoke chamber had been painted. Take it for what it is worth. Kevin

    Good point DD. I did paint my offset smoker with engine paint. Hugger Orange, just like my 69 Z28.

    I painted my UDS with plain old red Rustoleum. It has held up to a 400 degree test run and 5 smokes. So far so good.

    I did a burn last night and it cleaned up all of the dried latex paint, but there is still some sort of clear on the inside of the drum. That clear must be some good stuff to live through the 3 hour burn.

    Hi to all, this is my first post. :) Just wondering if a drum that use to contain latex paint would be fine to smoke out of, if I burn the poopy out of it. :) Thanks Kevin
