This is my first attempt at smoking ...

Jetman...did brining for us ....and leaving the smoking to me . he has to go to work ..so has handed the job to me .

Any good tips or suggestions ....such as maybe pepper or honey in the smoking process for and end flavor ?!!!

I am excited to do this....

Showed up for work, then boss says I don't have to work, wish he could make up his mind..... I'll take it from here, Vicki (VikingQueen) has the fillets drying under a small fan and we''l smoke  later today.

I'll have to throw my waders on and go get one or two of them "silver-bullets" to try in my smoker. I'm not gonna live forever!

Good luck and enjoy!

TBS using fruit woods. I like apple or cherry mostly but some like strong smoke flavor and use hickory. Sometimes I mist with a combo of apple juice and water and if I remember correctly once used water and maple syrup or was it honey? I forgot, but it was good but a little sweet.

When I made lox I used cherry and that was a good flavor for the salmon.

That steely looks great! So don't leave us hanging, what kind of wood did you end up using, and which smoker, temps, etc...
Vicki (vikingqueen) did most of the work and she did a fine job. Smoked in the File cabinet smoker for about 3 hours, did not take any temp readings, smoked until set firm. Used Bear Mountain, Apple wood pellets.

On a side note, we are getting reports that our local river (Willamette) is producing the first few fish of the spring Chinook run. She's aching to get her first salmon and I'm sure much of that will end up in the smoker, there will be pics of the carnage!

OCean was fine, long 10' swell at 16-18 seconds. I caught my 2 ling, perfect eating size 24"-26". Cam home with 6 ling, gonna make some good fish tacos!!!
