Hi Y'all

Couple months ago i was talking with Todd and he told me about a vac food tumbler he was going to get. We talked on and exchanged some emails and I got one of the tumblers.

Finally today i got around to using it. I also have a Reveo and I will give my honest take on both products.

Here are the parts of the tumbler. Please forgive my pics are not that great.

This is the main body housing the motor, digital controls, rollers.

The canister. I have noticed that the paddles in the Tumbler are bigger than the Reveo paddles.

Hand pump.

Basket insert for breading or washing.

Basket inserted into the canister.

The lid has an inner O ring that seals to the canister. The gray button in the middle is the valve.

Here is the completed Tumbler assembly. You evacuate the air from the canister up and down until you feel some resistance.

I use the Tumbler on the jerky today.

3 different loads with approx 5 lbs each.

1st tumble @ 20 mins and done.

2nd tumble @ 20 mins.

3rd tumble @ 20 mins.

Ok now the Pro's and Con's of the Tumbler vs the Reveo

Tumbler Pro's.

Unit is lighter than the Reveo

Paddles are bigger

Digital controls are numbers instead of lights.

Basket insert for other applications.

Lid O ring comes out easy for cleaning.

Hand pump cleans easy and no worry about liquids getting through a tube to damage motors or pumps.

Lid fits easy onto the canister

No air hose for the pump

Spin wheels are wider

Spare parts are available.

Tumbler Con's (If you wanna call them that)

Electric cord does not have a storage compartment  (really no biggie)

Canister seems to be a tad shorter (again no biggie)

Reveo Pro's

Canister about 2" longer

Compartment for cord and hose.

Reveo Con's

You have to keep the canister close to the unit so you can evacuate the air.

The O ring is very hard to get out and you can crack the lid.

Air valve can get clogged with food particles.

Smaller paddles

No canister insert

Air hose can suck in liquid and food

Lid you have to hit it down onto the canister

No spare parts. If you break any your outta luck.

This is my take on both units. Your results may vary.

Nice review Rick! I picked one up during the Cyber Monday sale & I am really happy with mine.  I have used it to marinade pork & chicken for meals & did some beef for jerky. I haven't used it to bread or wash anything & don't see myself doing that in the near future. For the reasons I got it for it does the job perfectly

Yee Ha!

I really dig these little tumblers

They make short work of marinating jerky

Wife and I were wishing we would have had one of these tumblers this last weekend... sure would have cut a day of marinating time out of our of making jerky!

Tumbler works great

My Reveo has been retired to the storage shelf.

Thanks for the review - what is the brand/manufacturer of the tumbler that beat the Reveo?

Thanks,
