My electric smoker just hasnt been producing smoke like it was.  I will soak the chips for 30 minutes and put them in the smoker.  But it will take hours for it to even start smoking.

So I am gonna get A-MAZE-N-SMOKERS(AMNS) or the pellet one.  My question is, Which one is better?  My smoker only uses wood chips.  Thanks guys.

soaked or not, it shouldn't take that long to get smoke. Are you sure your smoker is getting up to a high enough temp?

As for the a-maze-n, I went with the pellet version. Best of both worlds, dust or pellets. I like the dust for cold smoking and the pellets for the warmer stuff.

It fits perfectly in my MES 30

Get the AMNPS and in the event you choose to use Chips from time to time, don't Soak, it will delay smoke generation...JJ

I never soak. All it does is delay the smoking as JJ stated above. Water vapor initally.  It does make sense to soak if you are throwing chips or chunks in the charcoal grill  and have no means to control air flow. No air flow adjustment and the wood will burn up in two minutes. In a smoker just put the chip on and control your air flow...works like a dream....
