weed burner did a good job. but needed to burn out the red liner so fill it with

the wood and let it burn  all day and night. still a hot fire going in the morning . did a good job of burning out the liner

I been reading a lot here on how to build a UDS ,
And watch a lot of u-tube builds
Went and got a weed burner to burn them out
and a step drill bit to cut the holes .

light blue smoke . started with one cap off and ball valve open all the way. 15 minutes later put the cap back on

I sprayed the inside with Pam and started seasoning it.

here the final picture of it . been keeping track of the temp every 15 min.

the control of the temp is unbelieveable !!!!! so much better then my side fire box smoker.

been 3 hours so far the hightest its been is 240 and lowest was 217. And that was playing

around with the ball valve. Once I figure out right were the ball valve need to be it will stay

at 225 for hours on end.

thanks for looking .

I listen to bluegrass but never seen it until now

Congrats on the build... nice Job..............

Thanks , this was my first . and it won't be my last. Already have one person that want me to build them one.

adding few last pictures. I now understand why so many people like the UDS.

uses very little charcoal to get the job done. and temp control is so easy.

I think my side firebox smoker  will end up like my gas grill.

just sitting out there not getting used much.

ran the smoker 6 hours before shutting it down. Couldn't believe how much charcoal and wood was still in there

this morning when I check on it.
