Wow that stinks.  I'm sure your pee'od.    You can cold smoke and poach, just make sure your recipe includes some kind of cure ( cure #1, mortons)

There is no reason you can't do the Kielbasa on the grill with the AMNPS. Give it a few hours with just the AMNPS then push the Kielbasa to one side and light the burner on the far side as low as it will go, you are attempting to be around 180*F but that will be difficult. Continue to smoke the Kielbasa to an IT of 155*F and then cool it in Ice water to under 90*F and refrigerate...Not a perfect scenario but will get you by until...JJ

sipp, morning.... I think the outside temperature is too cold...   Use a hair dryer to warm the temp sensors in the smoker... or a towel soaked in hot water....  there are 2... a probe and a button.... Have the power turned on, have the timer set, (smoker will not work if the timer is not set), run the hair dryer ( or electric heater, small one) until the EAAF code turns into the temp display....

Do not ask why MES has a low limit cut off in the smoker... who ever did that is an idiot...  I guess they don't want you to smoke food when it is cold out....   do anything to heat the probes.....  Dave

thanks for your help.
i decided to cold smoke and poach chill.
it turned out pretty aweful.
i think i waited to long to do decide what to do with it.
it had a sour flavor to it.
My sister-in-law said it looked like something on fear factor.
postive points....
figured out my maverick and amnps.
both seemed to work good.now i need more ingredients and a new mes 30 for try 2.

Howdy Dave...Great advice, but it was in the high 60's all last week in PA. I think I remember a post where you get the same Error message with a bad sensor or probe...JJ
