Hi there, 1st post. My son gave me a Mastercraft gas smoker for Christmas last year.Befor I smoked anything I found this site and soon became intimidated by all the information involved with smoking meat, so I figured I would just jump in and get to it. My first smoke I wanted to do something easy, but what to do, found everyone talk about a "fatty" I thought " what the hell is a fatty". I followed the instructions on this site and the family went nutz for the fattys. Next I tried a Boston Butt, it turned out well but, long story short, It cooked for 16 hrs ( temp too low, no thermometer trusted the Thermometer that is attached to the smoker, WRONG) Next go round, two butts to take to work for a Christmas dinner. Everything went extreemly well, all that partook raved about the pulled pork.

As for smoking and cigars... right up my alley.  Hickory smoke wafting with the smoke from a good cigar... now you're talking!  Just add a good bourbon... heaven!
