Need some help here.

I been looking at just about all the vertical LPG smokers. Some are pretty nice with a few simple mods and some are just plane flimsy and junky. Master Forge, Camp Chef and Master Built come up allot as good verticals.

I want to do some sausage and need one that i can control between 100 and 180.

Any suggestions.

TY

I have one of the below item, I got mine from cabelas as I wanted it for summer sausage and regular sausage and my little cookshack just wouldn't work for long  sticks.

It worked well for what I used it for, since I have moved 3 years ago I have gotten a place to set it up for use. It would take some work to keep the temp regulated, I have not tried putting a valve in the line to control the amount of flow to help regulate temps, but I think that would work, it is single wall and mine is all SS and 48" cabinet with I think 5 racks and it came with hooks for hanging items on a string, it has a damper on the lower of each side as well as one on the top, the thermometer in the door you would need to calibrate with a known good one as it is not accurate.

I would buy one again, because I have found that it makes excellent yardbirds and such with the higher temps I can get the skin the way I like it, the cookshack only does 250 and the humidity in it needs dumped several times to get good chicken skins.

I was looking at this today at BPS

That's pretty low for a gas fired smoker, even with a mod like a needle valve.

When I want real low temps I use an electric burner.

I'm just looking to try something different with smoking.

I have the master forge 2 door that Lowe's sells. I like it , and feel for the price it's a great unit. I have never tried to get my temps that low so I can't say for 100% sure it will. How ever if you added a needle valve in line I'd be willing to bet you could.

I have a Smoke Vault & it has a very low setting on it & it will run at 120-180, but you have to be careful. If there is any wind the flame will blow out easily, so you have to babysit it a little. I saw where one of the guys made a wind break with brick pavers around the bottom. It looks nice & I think it may work for the low temps.
