Well, I'm getting ready to make Cougar78's "Thai Chicken Sausage". It is cold here and the MES wouldn't fire up...

The EAAF fault code was displayed on the electronic controller.....

Here is my remedy.... fortunatly the "milk barn" heater works on its side......

Checked the controller after about 2 minutes and everything was operating normal...

Thank you Masterbuilt for a safety switch for "low temp cutoff".

I can't figure out why I need it, but there must be some really good reason for it..

As one of our "famous" members would say, "Hugs" Masterbuilt.....

That's a great idea Dave. I heard the boiling water trick, but this seems a lot better.

Hope I don't need to try it out down here in Florida, but you never know!

Don't give Masterbuilt any ideas...they may come out with something equivalent to an engine block heater to "preheat" your smoker to start it!

Glad I'm not in WA....brrr!   Al, we're all in trouble if you have to use that method in FLA!

I understand the reason for the "High Limit Switch", but cannot understand why it won't work at low temps?????

Last winter, I had to drag my MES 40 into the garage to get it to fire up.

Glad to hear you're back in business!!

Looks like that will work well Dave...i put my wife's hair dryer in the smoker pointed at the temp prong and shut the door for a few minutes....works like a charm...lol
