I just so happened to be looking at my last post of prime NY strips and my wife walked by, stopped, said "wow that looks great, our anniversary is tomorrow (5 years on 11/20), I want that for dinner tonight". I said OK, I'll walk next door. Got to the store with thought of prime steaks again making me drool, went to the meat section, no prime, crap, go ask the butcher, out he comes with a hunk of meat and says give me a couple of minutes and I'll cut you some strips, hell yeah, I'll wait. Grabbed some other stuff I needed for the dinner and off to the house to celebrate (I guess
) our 5 years of marriage a day in advance. A bunch of beers and watching college football all day(she likes it ever since I taught her how to gamble, before only pro football) and it's time for dinner.
The electric grill, Charbroil Patio Bistro, 1200 watts of electric grilling power, pictures as per Chef Jimmy J's request
Prime NY Strips with coarse sea salt
freshly ground black pepper
toasted onion powder
garlic powder
And lastly smoked Spanish paprika
then I put it on the grill and top the other side with coarse sea salt and Morton's seasoned salt
Got some corn about to come off while the steaks cook
Steaks resting before dinner while I load the potato's
My dinner (picture taken in the kitchen because of better lighting)
Steak, grilled asparagus, corn, a loaded baked potato, and a grilled romaine salad topped with Parmesan cheese, diced tomato, and a little drizzle of pineapple vinegar.
Should have taken the cut picture in the good light.
I'll try not to bore you all with another steak thread unless I do something different.
Well thanks for looking!
