Hi Folks...  Love this site and just had to join.

I started smoking 4 years ago and cut my teeth on a small side by side charcoal unit given to me by a friend. I learned alot with it, some mistakes proved costly in time and $ but gained some valuable experience along the way. After a year of that I got a vertical charcoal Brinkmann, I enjoyed that too and turned out some great product but maintaining of coals and temp grew frustrating.

Two years ago I stumbled on a MES30 display model at Home Depot $79 and could not pass it up. I knew nothing about it but quickly learned to love it. I have amazed myself , friends and family with great ribs, chicken, fattys and my favorite... brisket... ever since.

Look forward to expanding my knowledge from y'all!

Ken

Welcome aboard, Pokernut!

Sounds like you will be right at home, and can give hints and pointers as well.  Enjoy all the resources available, and feel free to send photos of your great work.

Have a great time!

Also, thanks to all for the warm friendly welcomes from all.

I gotta say cruising this site the last few day I am extremely impressed with the work, and imagination of many of the members here ...and I can't wait to get my smoker as seasoned as some I see here.

Keep up the great work people!
