This is an old smoker that I built outta scrap iron that the bossman gave me. A few years ago. I have since converted it to reverse flow and lately I added a verticle attatchment.

I used a stationary mount LP tank[22gal I believe] and the fire box is 1/2'' steel plate

The verticle box is 1/4 '' plate. hinges, home made and just about anything else is too.

except the therms.

Most of the ones in the past were trailer mounted. Usually gave them to friends because I got tired ofmoving them around.

This size is what I found to work for me.   Just me and the wife and a pair of eatin' machine Rotties.. We don't entertain and we don't visit..

   I been stealing recipes and Ideas off this site for a WHILE now. Thanx, Folks

I don't post much and have quit with the advice thing but I ain't really anti-social.

Its an older Gorton. Pretty much the same as a bridgeport. Made a bit different. Thanx. The lighting in the dungeon that I work in ain't the best.

That's a cool looking smoker, looks like you're like me, always have to be tinkering with somethin' and what toys you have, nice shop, I'm envious.

I guess so, nobody visits with them two eatin' machines around, ...I bet you don't have a thief problem either.

I wish ya did post more, when you do they're quite interesting.

Thanx Gene..I am interested in how the gearshift Flap thingie is gonna work in the vert. attch. and the Boss made the comment that the

threaded rod hangers that I installed looks cheap.. That they do BUTT I was having a hard time coming up with some hanger material

that would have pre-made grooves for hanging bacon and STUFF. Then I told him that they were the stainless threaded rods that he had in stock

FOREVER.. Thanx Boss..

As far as thieves go.. My only Grand daughter is a crackhead DELUXE.. AND the dogs are used to her. Gotta keep everything locked up.

Nice build Hemi.... The cast iron fancy stuff in red (can't think of the proper term right now) looks like it may have come from a tredle sewing machine stand ???

Thanx Dave.. It never crossed my mind[what little I got left] to use sewing machine frames. Seems like I got a few some where.. The bottom sections are off a handrail section from a house remodel.. I had NO Idea what I was gonna do wid them when I rescued them from the curb.

The pigs was a GENUINE ANTIQUE piggy bank I got at a flea market..5 bucks.. Didn't know that China had em' too. Reason I know is because it still had the sticker inside. A screw held the halves together so I just flatened em' onna belt sander..

   The scrolls were somethin I found dirt cheap on ebay..

I just got it hauled home from work and set up inna back yard. I had room saved for just one more hemroid I been savin' for a special occasion..

Guess this was it.. I am gonna spray her down wid some cheapo Pam or somethin' similar and light it up..   Since my MIL is comin over tomorrow

I think I will reserve that secret stash of Loblolly Pine just for her..
