In my many years in the Military, first with the US Navy and then later with the US Air Force, it has been my pleasure to work with, and for a very proud organization. These gentle men and women took their jobs seriously but knew how to play as well. There is and always will be the sometimes not too gentle military rivilary and that is as it should be, but when bullets start flying, I know who I can count on to be ready to step out shoulder to shoulder to face whatever threat was there. I remember on one occasion sharing drinks with a full bull Marine Colonel who was fond of saying that when it's a fine day to die, it wasn't him that planned on doing the dying. I knew full well what he was saying. That was over 20 years ago now. I heard he got his stars and he deserved them. A salute to one and all and a special one to my stepfather, who proudly served as a US Marine in WWII, Pacific Theater. Happy Birthday Devil Dogs.
