There is one of these on Craigslist right now for $125. The seller states that it has only been used once and it is less than a year old.

I already emailed him that I will take it because it sounds like a good deal. Is it?

I'm afraid that my stick burner won't be able to keep up with the cold this winter and I'm sooo hooked on this hobby.

Thanks in advance!

sounds good to me , that's what I've got ( mine is older though ) . Might try offering a 100 for it . Might want to make sure it actually heats up also .When turning it on you have to set temp and then set time and in a few seconds the display goes back to it's inside temperature display , you should hear a slight click of a relay and the red heating light comes on . Then wait a minute or 2 and feel near the element ( don't touch it !!!!! If it's working properly in a minute or 2 the element will probably burn you ) . If it doesn't heat and you say something about it they should almost drop the price immediately . If I were to buy it I think the first thing I would do is replace the terminals that connect to the heating element and possibly the wires going to the element . That's the repair that many of us MES owners have done , and the cleaner the unit the less dirty your hands will get . I'm sure others will chip in shortly.

The best price I've seen lately for an MES 30, without the remote or glass door is $169.

A brand new one would have a short warranty & you could purchase a longer one.

$125 is only $44 less than that.

If there isn't anything wrong with it, you saved $44.

Yeah I looked into this one a while back.  I tried to get the seller down below 100 but wasn't able to.  Since I really didn't need it I passed on it.  Are you getting the jerky seasoning also?  Overall not a bad price as long as it works and no rust.

Thanks for the advice. I wouldn't have known what to look for.

Thanks Bear! Even if I can't talk him down, 44 bucks is still 44 bucks.

He didn't mention anything about jerky seasoning. If it is in good condition, $125 is fair. Many times, I've looked at something on Craigslist and the item was totally misrepresented in the add.

You Got That Right!

Tell him you'll bring $100 CASH

Sounds like it's been on Craigslist a little while

Either way, it's a pretty good deal
