One of the most frustrating things trying to type with a brain injury is my fingers not going where i want them to on my left hand, and constantly hitting the caps lock key and not realizing it and having to retype lines of type that are mistakenly in caps.  I googled it and found this link:

http://johnhaller.com/jh/useful_stuff/disable_caps_lock/

and it works!  you just download the file and say ok to install, then reboot your computer and you will not be bothered with the caps lock again!  Just an FYI!

Pops I have no KNOWN brain injury and have problems hitting the cap lock key

here's a link for specifically disabling it in Windows 7

This requires you to edit the registry, but is a simple 5 step process and shouldn't be hard to do.

You can explore it further and see if there is a patch or program that will do it like the other.  The one I used is for Vista, which i have and was written in 2010, don't think 7 was prevalent then.

I curse that button all the time. Thanks Pops. Does it work on Windows 7?

I have to thank you for the idea !!

I often hit the darn thing, but I didn't know you could disable it.

Now I have to see if it can be done on an "iMac".

And then talk Mrs Bear into doing it---Don't know why she would want to keep it.

Thanks Pops,

Bear
