My backyard looks like a desert I will probably have to re-sod it next spring

my neighbor is going crappie fishing in the morning, think he said he should run into some live ones on the other side of Oklahoma...

Anyone over there figured on what ammount of raifall it would take to fill up the lakes? Barring a tropical system i don't see them getting back to pool for years.

What's go'n on in texas is not a laughing matter!!!!

Here in north dakota our big lake on the missouri river was drying up from lack of run off. The fish and game issued a max horse power for all fishing boats!!!

The problem was we were raising to much dust with the big motors.

But...........in 2 short years we went from a barely a creek to bursting the banks with to much snow melt and rain run off.

Nope, it's not, never said it was, but all the wishing in the world is not bringing rain until yesterday which we are entirely thankful for.   You can laugh, you can cry, you can yell, you can scream but it won't do a damn bit of good until it rains.  We always have a drought in Texas; it's how much of one is what's relative. In the meantime you don't have to stomp the ground with your boot incessantly and never smile.

Yep but texas doesn't have the snow and runoff . It's rain or dust. Got friends out past pops that have had to shut down cattle ranch's that have been in the family for over 100 years and sell off the whole herd. No water and no grass . Like others it has gotten so dry that even w/ rain the grass is to far gone to make it . thousands of acres will have to be re seeded if the rain ever starts. They will tell ya .got to laugh to keep from cryin!

Severe thunderstorm watch for Tarrant and Dallas Counties tonight, including golf ball sized hail and high winds.  The drought should be lessened, summer is over once again.
