Not looking for a reputation I just enjoy the build and it is fun to see people enjoy using theirs.  The only financial gain is for my BBQ team it is my self sponsership.

Again---Real nice Ecto !!!

I like that color of Camo!

Got someone working on a logo.  No need to pm I charge 200 for a basic smoker two grate levels square charcoal basket just like you see above.  I have never shipped but LA is not far from Houston.  You would be suprised I have had people drive in from all over Texas to pick one up furthest trip so far 350 miles one way.  Since we are among friends here I will break it down for you.  It cost me 95 to 115 dollars to build one depending on the paint used and the type of barrel.  It takes one full day sometimes a day and a half to build, paint, cure, and season.  I am in no way pushing my good on here I still think that building your own is the best way to go.  I am just opening an avenue for those who feel they can't build one.  Trust me if I can do it so can you.  So far most people who have bought one from me have been other competitive bbq guys but I have sold a few on craigslist.

I have a couple of questions? Where is the exhaust? and what is the lowest set of bolts supporting? Nice paint job and thermo!

2 inch bunghole is the exaust this guy wanted a lower rack for a water pan i have made about half this way.

As always nice build!

In you professional opinion what is the best barrel for an air-tight seal with a Weber lid? Or do you just use a cut/mod Weber kettle ring?

What I have leanned is no two barrels are alike.  What I have found is a lot of  upen head barrels are actually wider on the top than the bottom.  If you cut out the bottom the Weber lid will fit better and then you have a way way to clean the ash out.  If you look long enough you will find that magical barrel with a 22 inch diameter that fits the Webber lid most I find are a bit too large.

Hey Ecto where'd you score the Thermo, I like it.  Great looking build BTW

People keep sending me to Ecto. Hi, I'm a fellow Texan living in Israel. Building my first UDS. Pumped. Can already smell the smoke. Got a closed lid barrel. Also have a Weber Kettle. The lid is almost a perfect fit on the ring if left intact. Is that the best cover or use the existing lid? If so, cut below the rim or inside from the top?

And, can I use this washer drum by making a bunch of holes in bottom and sides?
Remove plastic, yes.
