Found trimmed tri tip on sale for $2.98 lb which is rare in California these days so I couldn't let an opportunity pass me by. Rubbed with EVOO and did one in Chef Merito's steak seasoning and one in Pappy's prime rib rub. Into the MES at 225 and out at 153 and 156. Meant to pull in the low 140's but I got distracted slicing BBB from yesterday's smoke and keeping an eye on some beer bread I was grilling from Cowgirl's recipe. Not as rare as I prefer but still make for some good sammies.
