I am making some jerky. While it is in the smoker I am reading through the forum. I see some people rinse their jerky after marinating it and others dont mention it. I am making 2 ponds of teriyaki. I used 1/2 tsp of cure #1 in the marinade. Marinated 36 hours. Was I supposed to rinse it? I just laid it out and patted it dry. It has been in the smoker for 2 hours now. I hope I didnt screw this up.

I do not with my jerky recipe but I could see if I used a different recipe where I might want to. Give it a try and see what happens.

I don't rinse mine at all and I use cure. Try to keep the temp under 160° or you will start cooking it instead of drying it.

Really no need to rinse, all your doing is rinsing flavor off.

Just dont re use your marinade, make new everytime.
