Go see if you can  figure out who has the best  Juicy Luicy (cheese stuffed burger) Matts Bar or the 5-8 club. Its a long standing feud.  I have yet to try either place but I want to so bad. Each time I get to the Twin Cities I never seem to have enough time.  But then again I bet my smoked stuffed burgers are way better!

And if you have several bills to spend  check out  Manny's Steak House. Very expensive but very good when I was there. But then again I didn't have to pick up the bill as I was there with clients.

No free time - I am stuck with these folks until Thursday. I am playing the game. They dont know I am retiring at the end of June LOL

See you could have stopped there on your way back from the Gathering

  Have fun if ya can

Well last night was possibly the worst BBQ I ever ate. Place was called Dickies. Today was a long day starting at 730 going to 6 with a 30 min lunch.  Things improved tremendously at 6. Todd Johnson drove up and we went out for a great steak dinner.  What a great guy he is and it was fun talking to him about the progression of his smoker. Looking forward to meeting the rest of the family in the Fall when they come out West.  If you ever get the chance to meet him take advantage of it. He is a great guy.

Gary, well at least your day ended well. I've not dealt with Todd in person, but he always responds like an upright guy. You might have to wait till you get home... there the Q is to your liking. It's all good my friend.

Gary, you bring back memories of two weeks of "training" in Columbus OH back in the 90's.  Only decent meal I got was at a mom and pop place in Amish country on my way to the football hall of fame.  I'm sure things are better there now, but, back then the gourmet meal appeared to be fried chicken at a buffet.  LOL  Without a rental car and a week end off, I would probably have been climbing walls.  Retirement is sweet.

Good luck and good smoking.

Hope Todd brought you a little jacket to keep your SOCAL tan from cracking!

Yes, I got a chance to have dinner with Gary.

Dickies is a terrible place to go for BBQ, and the best joints are in "The Hood".  Not a place for 2 White Dudes to go after dark, if you know what I mean!!!

Had a great time with Scar and looking forward to warmer weather when we hit San Diego in the fall.

That's great you were able to turn part of the trip into a pleasant experience.  Soon you'll be back to the Santa Anna's and insufferable heat and the sun beating down on  you day in and day out.....Oh, the horror....... but, somebody's got to do it.
