Have you ever had one of those thoughts that creeps up and you seriously think about acting on it?  Well, this was awfully tempting!

The owner of the villa I work at said there would be a large shipment arriving, and that it would contain the new generator and the Diesel fuel tank.  I wasnt really sure how big this thing was, but knew it was going to fill up the large space behind out "Inn Keeper's Suite" (converted 2 car garage where we live).   It took me 3 days to clear out behind, then on the day the crane arrived I had such an urge to hijack the darn thing - and you all know what I was thinking!!!!

Here it is almost ready to be set down in front of the 100kw generator

But really, can you imagine the smoker that thing would have made!!!  I'll really appreciate the whole system once hurricane season arrives, but until the first time it fires up and gives us power...I'll always dream about the "What if.."

btw..the tank is about 5' wide and around 12' long

JJ,
I gotta tell ya this:

At first glance of the first picture, my first thought was, "This guy's really nuts---He wants his smoker in back of the house so bad, he's willing to pay $1000 to rent a crane to put it there!"

Then I looked closer,

Dang, Build a smoker out of that tank and you could feed at least a third of the folks on St John. LOL

I saw on this weekend (a smoker)  just a little smaller

Was going to take a pic..just kept going... next time..

That would be some build for sure. Who needs power in a hurricane when you can smoke everything in the fridge on that unit
