I work on Thanksgiving this year and was planning on smoking a small turkey on saturday or sunday after. trouble is the temp is supposed o be well below freezing and i'm not sure i will be able to keep temps in my ECB to cook the thing. any thoughts?

Sorry to hear that, the only thing I can think of is brine it and use a bottle of liquid smoke and roast it. Sometime's ya have to wing it.

You can also wrap that ECB in an old blanket or sleeping bag behind that windbreak.  Lot's of coals, too (unless you have a gasser or an electric!)!!

You have all kinds of ways to make that smoke a great success. There you have you work cut out for ya now. So smoke on my friend.

First things first I would pull the smoker out and start it up and give it a try and see what temps you can maintain with the cold outside. If you just can't get the temps high enough then maybe invest in some welding blankets or also I have heard of people using hot water heater wraps. Is it the wind or the cold that you are worried about? Best of luck.

I do alot of smokeing so what I did was to build a little shelter around my smokers . Nothing fancy . Just something  to protect me from the winds . Once you start smokeing your meats it will hold the heat inside . Just make sure you have some way to vent your smoke out .
