Just put a beautiful 5 pound butt on the smoker 30 minutes ago.  Next up, I'll be making another experimental fattie.  Later I'll add the ABTs.

Last night when I got the butt out to mustardize it, I discovered I had no camera.  I'm really disappointed I won't be able to do a Q view.

Nevertheless, it's going to be a great day!

No Camera??

Did you report that ?

Did they leave any evidence?

Don't touch anything in the area, until the law gets there!!

LOL, Bear!

Thanks for the laughs, buddy!

I usually use my wife's camera and she left it at work.  No need to get the law involved!

Although this is actually my 2nd attempt at pulled pork, it's the first with my ET-73.  Last time I was relying on the built-in lid thermometer, which I have discovered is always at least 70- 100 degrees off.

I know today's product is going to be much superior to my initial effort.  And I mixed up some finishing sauce, another piece missing in my first attempt.

And, this is the best part: I made other plans for dinner, so I'm in no hurry at all with this butt.  We'll probably nibble a bit tonight, but the PP is on the menu for tomorrow.

Let the good times roll!

You do know there's a saying around that goes "No Qview it never happened" now I must admit I've had some good food that evidently never happened

Yup, we had the same problem (one camera). Then the big Cannon started telling us the sticks were full, when they weren't. I told (asked) the wife to get a new "little" one to replace it. Then after (not before) she got the new one, I did a search on what was wrong with the sticks in the old one, and found out you could re-format the old one. Now they both work good, but the big old one is best. So now if she takes any with her, it will be the little one, and I'll have the best one with me. Worked out pretty good---huh??

 LOL, Piney!   hilarious!

& Bear, I'd say that camera deal worked out quite nicely!

Meanwhile, I'm cruisin' along, with a nice buzz, and the butt is at 190 and climbing.  It's coming up on 7 and a half hours into the smoke, which is about what you'd guesstimate for a 5 pound butt.  Foiled when it hit 165 IT.   Never hit any significant plateau.

Now that I typed that it will probably refuse to go higher than 190 for the next several hours.  LOL

Nope, by the time I finished the sentence it ticked up to 191

yay!  go butt, go!
