I love my BGE. I have had it for 4 years. Works great for steaks, baking, pizzas and such.

Smoking is a different story. It never has been friendly to staying below 300 degrees. I have tried many methods. The BGE main office is right around the corner. Not much help.

So today was the last try smoking with it. Started early with the butt. Nice clean BGE charcoal. Just wont stay at 225-275.

After much reading and advice posted here I am going to buy a MES30 and an Amazing rig. Seems like the best package for the money and looks like it will be easy smoking for a change.

  Have a great weekend!!!

You will have the best of two worlds:

One won't go below 300˚

One won't go above 300˚

Looks like the MES will be used the most!

And that AMNS will make everything soooo much easier!

Congrats sounds like a great plan

Yep... and pretty soon you'll be like the rest of us and have a different cooker for each piece of meat you cook.

Might I suggest getting the MES 40", you won't be sorry you went the extra distance....You can get one at Sam's for $299.00 and the extra 3yr warranty for $39.00.  I love mine.
