Hi All,

I have been stuffing my snack sticks using a small jerky gun, although it works great, its a pain in the rear since I can only load a around a 1/4 of pound of meat at a time, so when doing a 5 pound batch it takes forever.

A few weeks ago I bought a 3 pound horn stuffer, that was a no go for snack sticks, even keilbasa was a pain to stuff.

So now I am looking for a decent stuffer that will do both. Will the 5 pound vertical models do good, and which one would be better, ie Lem, Grizzly and such.  I will probably never really do more than 5 pounds, so no need for a bigger one.

You can get a good one from gander Mtn or Northern tools they are just about the samunit and price too I think. I have one from gander and it works great but don't get their grinder get the one from Northern.

As far as I know, Grizzly has the cheapest price and their unit is the same as 5 pound-ers sold by the other companies.  I have one and I'm extremely happy with it.  My only regret is I sometimes wish I had a 15 lb model.

yes...the 5lb stuffer will do good. I found my 5lb stuffer at the northern tool store.
I also found it $10 cheeper online on their website and they matched the price at the store. The difference in the stuffers are some have plastic gears and some have metal gears. My gears are made of plastic and I have no problems with the unit. I usually do 60lbs batches of kielbasa and have a 30lb cabelas stuffer with motor.   I had some problems with the foot control motor not working but they went from plastic gears to metal gears inside the motor. They sent me the new replacement gears and I have not had a problem since.

Thanks all,

I went ahead and ordered the grizzly 5lb vertical stuffer.  Hopefully it will be here by the weekend.

Now the question I have is, for the tubes, where can I find one for snack sticks, will the lem tube they sell on their site work?

There is an LEM tube that is 19 mm and I think it will work with your stuffer
I got mine a BPS in the local store

The grizzly arrived today.  All I can say is wow.  I stuffed around 3 pounds of mango jalapeno sausage in less then 10 minutes..   Can't wait to do the snack sticks.  Tried a piece of my collagen casings on the smallest tube, a bit tight, but it should work..

Very cool - we need to see the qview though - Glad for ya man
