Hi everyone i have been lurking for a while and decided to join.  I have had my smoker (char-griller with side fire box) for about a month and have made some modifications to it.  I have so far done some ribs, chicken, turkey, and my latest project is currently a bacon explosion that is smoking right now.

Welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. Lots of good info and some great recipes to be found here. Have fun and happy smoking

Welcome to the site. Great day for smoking in The Valley eh? If my smoker was in the sun, I could light a candle in it and it would come up to temp..

That's about right, before i even started my fire the temp was around 105 and it got up to 225 in about 15 minutes.  The only problem with today is it is a bit windy but that just means i need to pay a little more attention to it.  I have probably smoked the last 5 days in a row but i guess that comes from 3 years of apartment living and the lack of a smoker but with a house and a nice big backyard i can make the whole neighborhood smell of sweet applewood without worries

Welcome to SMF - looks like the AZ clan is really growing

It was so hot in my MES today that the burner wasn't on long enough to ignite my hickory. I had to get it smoldering with a propane torch and put it back in.

I have probably smoked the last 5 days in a row
 That's all?

First off welcome Az Dude to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are alot of really good folks that would just love to help you with anything to do with smoking. Now we like having new folks here to give a new prospective on some of the ways we do things around here. Now if you are really new then I would suggest that you sign up fir the 5-day E-course it free and it will give you the basics on smoking and a few recipes too. Here's a link to it:

http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/list/127

then you will have a method to your newly found madness and believe me it will be a madness. Then when you start smoking things you will have to learn how to post the pictures / Qview

here. So here's a link to a tutorial on how to post your Qview so we can see what your doing.

Now the next thing you have to do is run out and get something to smoke. Then just smoke it and if you have any questions just post  them here and we will answer all your questions that you might have. Oh yea there's no stupid questions we were all there in the beginning and we just really like to help others enjoy the fabulous smoked foods that we do. So again
