I recently stumbled across this excellent forum. Glad to be part of it.

As you may have guessed, I am from the Philadelphia area. I'm an obsessive fan of the Philadelphia sports teams.

About 3 1/2 years ago I started to become an active griller when I purchased a Weber Summit E-670. A propane grill is very practical in the northeast with our weather. As much as this Weber is a world class grill, I felt that something was missing. This summer my wife and children gave me a large Big Green Egg for a Father's Day gift. I instantly fell in love with the Egg, and use the Weber and Egg very frequently. I do not classify myself as a pitmaster, but I am always looking to improve my skills.

I also own a portable Weber Go Anywhere Grill (hate it), and an Aussie Walkabout charcoal grill for tailgating.

I'm looking to get advice and creative ideas around BBQ.

Hoping to become an active contributor.

Bearcarver, It is very easy to stabilize the temperature in the BGE, but still retain the art of smoking.
Yup---That's exactly what my Son tells me about using his BGE.

Although for convenience I am a Watt-Burner, I can't think of anyone who has had a BGE & has not liked it.
