Would the original tappecue be a good deal at $100 price tag, or should I go with V2.0?

Well.... I took the plunge, so I guess I'll let the next person know if it was worth it. Is there a more active forum out there for smokers?

I think more folks are using standard RF remote therms or the Bluetooth remote app therms more than wifi; therefore, your not getting the replies your wanting. Wifi therms are progressing and the Smoke from thermoworks that just came out that is a standard RF remote therm will be releasing their gateway, making it wifi next year. The Meater is wifi but has been having release date set backs and I don't know if it's out yet. It was suppose to be released last June. Hopefully someone will check in to help you.

I have a 2.0 and I am glad that I got it. I also ordered the weatherproof case but you can find a case that is just as effective and cost less if you do some looking. I got a some cable turtles to keep my prob wires organized and also bought a Samsung Fast Charge 10200mAh battery pack to power the unit from instead of running an extension cord to my smoker.
