Thats right.

Few months ago i bought a case of assorted PS Seasoning mixes from Gander Mtn for $18, got 24 kits that were close to being out of date. Not out of date for me.

Made 3lbs of Garlic SS Sticks. Going in the smoker after the LJ sticks are done.

Looks good..With many dry goods, " Out of Date " means " we print this on the pack so you toss perfectly good product and buy more! "...JJ

Hear! Hear!
It's kind of like the instructions on shampoo bottles: "Lather, Rinse, Repeat". (Translate: use it up so you need to buy more.)
The Mrs is always stressing about dates on things. It makes me nuts....

Nice score on the seasonings! I love garlic in sausage.

Looking good Nepas, looking good.

Don't forget the money shots

I have a friend who is a QC person at Kraft, he says they take pallets of ketchup, mustard, mayo and other food to the landfill and run them over with the dozer to destroy the product. What a waste when this could be donated to homeless, food banks or low income families.

Finally got some pics of the Garlic BP Sicks

These are going to Paducah with me next month, some of my friends are older and dont care for casings so i peel the casings off.

Both the LJ & GBP Sticks in vac bags.

Those look great! Perfectly straight, too (How DO you do that? I guess I just don't have the patience...).
You're spoiling them. Teach 'em how to peel their own.

It it's a waste. Unfortunately, if someone got sick and it was even remotely tied to the products the lawsuits would far outweigh the PR/ tax benefit of making those donations.

Ketchup will NEVER get bad due to all the vinegar in it, that's why restaurants all leave it sitting on the tables.....Agreed, that its a waste!
The Mrs. refuses to put ketchup in the fridge. It resides in the pantry. We've been together for 12 years and no ill effects.
