Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can but a Lang in the Norheast? They said shipping to Buffalo NY is nearly $700! I want a big time reverse flow and the Lang 48 seems to be top notch. Thanks!

I don't believe they have any retailers.... everything is bought straight from them ... I may be wrong on this .. see if anybody else chimes in... your only other option is to keep an eye on craigslist in your area...

Thanks JD.  That's what I think too but was hoping I was wrong.   Tacking $700 on makes it a mighty expensive purchase

I agree..Watch Craigslist you might be able to pick up a used one.
You just have to be patient sometimes.

You can go to southern GA and pick up the Lang and skip the cost of shipping. But you have to pay GA sales tax 7% and pay for gas etc.

Hope you get your lang smoker,

Actually $700 doesn't sound so bad to me. They charged me $400 & I'm only 300 miles away in Florida.

I figured with the gas & tax, and trying to figure out how to get it out of the back of my truck. I would just pay the delivery fee.

The guy unloaded it & put it in my backyard where I wanted it. These smokers are extremely heavy duty. My 36 patio weighs 650#.

I think it will outlast me & my son.

Good luck!

Smoking Al you make a good point, it's just a ton of money. How do you like your 36? I have a 22.5 WSM now and I find myself running out of room even after utilizing both shelves. Was thinking about going with the Lang 48.

Your right it is a ton of money, but it's also a lifelong investment.

I had 3 WSM's before I got the Lang. I still have them, but don't use them much anymore.

Probably going to sell them at some point.

I really like the Lang.

The food just tastes better over a wood fire, and I'm not sure why but everything cooks much faster.

I bought the 36 because it has plenty of room in it for my purposes.

The other reason being it uses less fuel than a bigger smoker.

There have been times when it was full of food & quite crowded, but it still was OK.

I don't know if the 48 is a bigger diameter than the 36, but the racks in the 36 are pretty close together.

With both racks in it's hard to baste something on the bottom rack. The top rack slides out so it's easy to baste something on it.

The bottom rack doesn't slide out.

Other than that I'm very happy with it.

Oh one other thing. The side to side temp was 20 degrees different.

The firebox side was hotter than the other. I just put a small water pan on the bottom grate next to the firebox & both sides are exactly the same now.

Hope this helps!
