Hi new to posting here

I am looking at buying a smokin-it 2 electric smoker .. a stand for it and cover .. so i suppose in the 600 to 700 dollar range all in

i'm getting up there and tending a fire all night is getting to be a bit much for me as is bending way down (thus the need for the stand)

i've never had an electric smoker but from looking around this one seems to be the one for me.

for others who do have experience with electric smokers .. is there a better one in the price range? is there another one i should be looking at instead?

thanks

I just googled it & it looks pretty small for that price. Have you looked at the Masterbuilt 40 ". About half the price & there are a lot of guys here who have them. Me included.

Check it out.

Stout - Smokin-it (SI) has a real good reputation for quality and dependability. If you compare apples to apples - Smokin-it, SmokinTex, and Cookshack - which are all stainless steel inside and out - you will find the SI gives you the most bang for the buck. Has a great warranty as well (3 years).  You can PM me for more info. Dave

thank you both. I still have some more information gathering to do

and hopefully some others will post in this thread or other threads on similar topics

Stout, did you get your new smoker yet? If so, which one? I've got the 4D on order and it will be delivered next Wednesday. Can't wait to fire it up. :)

I wish

had a little set back

had to replace my vehicle.. my old one was totaled .. wasn't worth much but man i loved that old van wanted to put another 100 thousand miles on it but wasn't meant to be.. got settlement but had to put in a bunch more out of my pocket to get a new ride

might have to wait till next years tax refund but if not before then .. then for sure

stout - While you are waiting and saving, I would recommend forgoing the 2 and a stand and spring for the 3/3D and no stand.  You'll get a larger smoker and can add or make a stand later. No doubt a stand makes life easier but so far I have found it unnecessary.
