Any suggestions before I start assembly? HELP HELP
I AM ASKING ANYONE FOR THE EXACT DEMENSiONS
Of a HEAT DEFLECTOR INCLUDING THE BEVEL BEND
BECAUSE OF A PHYSICAL DISABILITY I WANT TO HAVE
ALL MODS. DONE WHILE I ASSEMBLE MY HIGHLAND
FOR THE FIRST TIME.

I just put mu OK Joe Highland together a couple weeks ago. All went well except for the front leg bolts, their was a  hole to screw in to on the leg but none on the smoker leg stub, so the bolts just spin. I plan to drill holes soon but I am presently holding legs on with a bungee cord .

Thanks for the post KirkJ. I still have not started or opened
The box. Still trying to find some muscle to help me. Honestly I'm beginning to drool realizing all the Q I have
Missed. I'm still debating with myself if I should make and
Install a heat deflector while doing the original assembly.
Or should I try to fire it up as bought and maybe not need
To make a deflector? I need to get into the box and measure
Design for deflector. I'm afraid to open the box as it is standing vertically. Don't know if opening it before it's placed
Horizontal for assembly[emoji]129300[/emoji]

I just put it together and smoked 3 racks of baby backs that came out great. I did use some high temp sealant between the fire box and smoke chamber when I put it together.  I bought some sealant tape for the smoke chamber  and plan to add it tomorrow along with an additional temp gauge. I plan to try a loaf pan as a water pan instead of a heat deflector at the inlet to the smoke chamber.... good luck Martpoz

I would fire it up and see how it cooks with out any mods. At the very least you could use a baking pan as a deflector.
I also would smoke something easy so you can practice your fire management. "Chicken"
Because your going to have a slight learning curve burning wood.
