Hello, I was over at the PelletHeads forums but it's like crickets over there.

Bit of background... almost 40 years old and have lived in SoCal, TX, and now CT and have cooked on almost every type of grill including burying whole hog in Southern CA. More recently I had a MES smoker that I gave to a buddy and moved to the pellet which I always believed was blasphemy. That couldn't be further from the truth, real wood fired flavor, ease of use, and great smoke production throughout the cook.

Picked up the grill late last year from Lowes for $1200.

Put it together and cooked all sorts of goodies including bacon and eggs.

Thanks 78! and for those confused, Englander is licensed to produce CookShacks Fast Eddy's PG500 patented grill.

Hi Tweaked...nice rig!  Looks like you're turning out some very tasty Q on that thing...always admired the setup on those Fast Eddies/Englanders.

Thanks Red. I did do some Carolina style baby backs this weekend. Came out great.

Before the final hour using the standard 3-2-1 method.

Grate from CookShack came in. 10lbs of stainless!!

It is a deal fast Eddy has with new englander. So there are some small differences between this and the Cookshack units. It came out right after I got my PG500 so I didn't look too much into the differences.

Great looking cooks Tweaked. You will have to update on how the stainless great works out. I am still debating on pulling the trigger on one.

Yup, something like that. Eddy was answering allot of questions on the Englander forum at the other site. Small differences like painted and not stainless, no warming drawer, two same size doors as apposed to 1 large and one small, different controller, etc.

Stainless is great as I run it on my Weber Genesis gaser, but those grates are 7mm, and this is nearly 10mm so I expect it to be amazing for searing. Also, I'm confused, you have the PG500, but not stainless the grate?

Yeah not sure what they come with now, but originally the pg500 had cast iron. Fast Eddy started selling the stainless on his own from pelletheads about a year after I bought my grill. Guessing since you got it from cookshack they must have picked up the production/sales.

After this weekend and sons grad party, I realized I could really use the warmer. Had 30+ people to feed all at same time. Did 12# pulled pork, BB ribs, chicken, spicy sausage, and pit beans all served 30 minutes after everyone's arrival. The warmer would of been perfect for parts of the cook.
