I'm planning a party and we will be having and I will be cooking a 8 lbs pulled pork that I already have. Also I will be making briskets just trying to figure out how much brisket in pounds I'll need. There will be about 17 people at this party. I want to have enough but not over do it?

With the amount of Pork you have, 4oz of Beef is going to be plenty. Brisket has a 50% Yield so 17 X 4oz = 68oz / 16 = 4.25Lbs / .5 yield = 8.5 Lbs Raw Brisket. This is the minimum you need to purchase...JJ

Is that for sliced brisket or chopped? I'm planning on slicing it.

Either really. Looking at your post again...Is that an 8lb Raw Butt or 8lbs of finished Pulled Pork you already have? You will only get about 4lbs of Pulled Pork from a 8lb raw Butt. That gives a total of 8oz meat if your guests take some of each. If they are BIG eaters as in mostly Men or you think people will prefer one over the other, then you will not have enough of either and you should do the Math for 6oz portions of each...JJ
