So I have been looking at the Lone star grillz smokers for about 3 years now. Im getting really close to pulling the trigger on one. Looks like a great smoker and is a very reasonable price. Seems like the company is set on pleasing the customer. Anyone on this forum own one? I would like to know how they perform. Im looking at the 24x36 offset pit. Thanks!

I don't own one but looked at them real hard. I talked to the owner a couple of times, nice guy. They look like the fit and finish is superior and any addition or mod can be added from the factory. I'm still too poor to get one but, someday...JJ

Little late to the party but I'm thinking about one of these bad boys as well. Did you pull the trigger or are you still researching?

Nope, i ordered the 24x36 with a 12"front folding shelf, gas assist log lighter and an extra thermometer. 7 weeks into the 18 week wait.

Holy frick...18 weeks!?!

Well shit. That pretty much covers most of my smoking season up north.

No 'cue for me this summer.

That was 18 weeks 7 weeks ago. The wait time has gone up now. These custom pits are no joke! But well worth the wait.

Thought as much. Damn. I want a nice stick burner but dh wants a pellet smoker. Maybe I order one of these bad boys and get him his pellet smoker to keep him happy/tide us over the summer.

I looked very seriously at the Lonestar a number of years ago. Talked to the owner several times just as Jimmy did. Very nice, very helpful and I got the impression he knew how to build a smoker that would work.  I came within about a hour of placing the order and I ran across a custom pit built by a guy on the Smoke Ring. It had everything I wanted plus some things I didn't know I wanted until I seen it. Not to mention it was built and ready to go. If I remember Lonestar had a 8 to 12 week wait period back then.

I in no way regret my decision to purchase the custom rig I appreciate it more every time I cook on it it's been fantastic but I regret having to call the guy at Lonestar back and tell him I went with something else.

He was disappointed.
