We decided to do a "Healthy" BBQ after a few days of double smoked ham for breakfast, lunch and diner. I tried modifying a recipe that turned out pretty tasty, but awkward: 1# turkey, 1/4 cup bbq, 1 tsp veg oil, 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tspn cumin, 1 green onion chopped, 1 raw egg. Combine and hand mix together.

This is where it got awkward. They didn't have consistency of a burger. They were pretty runny. I thought about going meat loaf, but I already was commited with webber kettle, so I brought out a CI.

Turned out moist and satisfying. I used a little Apple wood on the coals, cheese is medium cheddar cold smoked with Apple as well.

Thanks for look'n!

Looks good. A 1/4C Bread Crumbs would help without changing the texture. Also, while Eggs help hold meatloaf or meatballs together, they are not really needed for Patties...JJ

Thank you Chef! I will be sure to follow adjustment next time. My wife isn't Gluten friendly so it makes bread problematic (and a pain in the rear). But I can make some from GF bread crumbs.

Nothing wrong with a turkey burger till ya start adding a bunch of gravy.... LOL
Is gravy ever bad? Cheese is my weakness though!

Hehe, healthier may be a better choice of words, but that's debatable with a hunk of smoked cheesier on top!
