Hey guys...just joined a couple weeks ago.

I've been a longtime BBQ lover but have only grilled before. My wife got me a Masterbuilt 30 inch electric smoker for my bday, so I'm hoping to learn to become a pro with some trial and error and learning from you guys on here.

I used my smoker for the first time yesterday, and went with a 6lb brisket right off the bat.  I think it turned out "good" but not great.   My guests were very pleased, so overall I was happy.

Looking forward to lots of BBQ this summer!

Hey Ryan,

Welcome to SMF!

Brisket is one of the hardest things to get right, so if your first smoke was a brisket and everybody liked it.

I'd say your off to a great start with this new hobby.

Glad to have you with us!
