After seeing worktogthr's thread on cheese steak subs on a flat top, I knew the flat top was going to be on the wish list. Showed it to Judy (my wife), and she said we could put it on the patio & wouldn't mess up the kitchen. SHE SAID "Lets get one". So I started looking around. Lowe's had a Blackstone and I found a Camp Chef on Amazon for only $79 more than the Blackstone, no tax & free shipping. It's a little smaller, but I have a Camp Chef Smoke Vault & really like it. Also Camp Chef has replacement parts readily available. So here is our new baby:

I had part of a ribeye leftover from a couple of nights ago, so we thought how about steak fajitas.

Chopped up some onion, peppers, garlic, and ginger. Sliced the ribeye. Got some cheese & sour cream out.

Next we made the tortilla's. Pretty easy just mix the dough, need it then into a tortilla press. Of course Judy did all that.

I was waiting at the flat top to cook the tortillas, just a couple minutes on each side.

Next into the warmer, and the onions & peppers go on the flat top. Add some salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.

Cook them a little then add the ginger & garlic.

Next a little red wine & the steak.

All done & off to the side to stay warm. Then grab a tortilla & build a fajita.

Add some cheese.

Then some sour cream!

And dig in!

I think we are going to be using this flat top a lot.

Thanks for looking!

I just can't stand myself here.... so did you get the matching knife and holster for that spatula? How about the bouncing salt and pepper shakers? The tall Chefs hat to flip the shrimp up into? I am envious of you two, those look like sooooo much fun. I would be having seafood and fried rice every night. Well then I would to build something else around here to keep the mosquitos at bay. Looks like you have that problem solved.

I gotta say though, I am thinking a Chefs apron might not be a bad accessory to own. Maybe shorts would more Ok with a bit of protection.

That looks great and love that new toy, oh and supper looks great. I don't know why but I have never made my own tortillas, added to the list. I loved the fresh corn ones in Mexico.

Lookin good Al!

Man you're on a tear! Looks fantastic

Thanks Kevin!

The tortillas are really easy to make & so much better than store bought, we make corn tortillas too.

Thanks for the point!

Neat toy and super looking grub!

Something in this thread bothers me though?

Is there such a thing as leftover rib eye?

Good luck and good smoking.

saw one of these when I purchased my new gas grill yesterday , I have to wait about a year but this will be my new toy !!!!

Wow, what a great post.

I keep repeating in my head. " I don't need one, I don't need one, but I want one "

Hahaha look what I have started! That's awesome Al!!! The fajitas looks great! Everyone of you reading this thread is doomed! You will all eventually have one of these. I haven't tried it yet but I have read they are great for repurposing leftover BBQ. Points for giving into your cooking addiction!

Points Sir, Great looking food and a new toy to save up for! To follow up on Foams thoughts, I always wanted to make an onion volcanoe!

Thank-you!

I cut the rib eyes myself, usually 2 to 2 1/2 " thick.

Judy & I split one & there is always enough for fajitas the next day

Awesome looking fajitas Al!!. I have a griddle coming with my Santa Maria cooker but I'm still considering getting one of those propane flat tops they look so versatile.

This is what my griddle will look like on the Santa Maria.

Thank-you!

That's an awesome looking cooker and the griddle looks like it would do the job, but we can't have enough toys can we?

Thank you for the points too!

The bad thing about this forum is you get exposed to all this stuff.

I'm going to have to buy a bigger house!

Adam, I still have a little room on my patio.

I will "store" it for you?

Good luck and good smoking.
I might have to rent a storage locker!
