If I buy a larger volume electric cabinet smoker than the food volume I'm going to cook, will the moisture or smoke be different than a small size?

For example...

I buy a cabinet smoker capable of 4x8lb pork butts, but I only cook 1x8lb pork butt.

Will the moisture be different?

Will the smoke flavor be different?

Thanks in advance,

Jake

I don't think so. I have a 30' and a 40' master built and I can't tell the difference from a full smoker or just one piece of meat in ether one. Other the amount of time it takes to cook. The more meat the longer it takes sometimes.

I'm with Hank on this....    BUT.....  only cook one butt ???   Not enough left overs...   If you want one sliced for sammies or pork roast, gravy and spuds, pull it out at about 170 ish then finish the pulling butt....

I'm with Hank too.

But Dave, holy cow how many freezers do you have?

I've smoked only one pork shoulder of that size at a time in my MES 30 and it turned out fine. Also smoked beef brisket flats of about the same size. They turned out really good. I only smoke one roast at a time because there's typically only 2-4 people having dinner in my house--and we still have leftovers. .
