With the impending snow storm coming I got all my snow prep done.
Milk, eggs, bread and other staples ready - check
Snow blower gassed and started -check
Generator gassed and started - check
Make 3lbs. of emergency jerky rations - check

Long Island NY, supposed to get 6-12 inches with blizzard conditions.

Jerky is a great idea for the storm. I am also on Long Island and I think I might do some kind of outdoor cooking despite the storm. I have some chicken quarters that are just begging to be made into pulled chicken.

Since I bought my Big Green Eggs after every snow storm I always cook outside. When the snow stops I I brake out my snow blower and do my driveway and help a few of my neighbors. Once they are all cleaned out I take the snow blower and clean off my patio, clean off my eggs and I light them up. That's my little gift to myself for a job well done. It also puts a smile on my face as my neighbors get to smell some good "Q" while their gassers are buried. I especially love that, that guy is crazy look I get while cooking outside.:yahoo:

hahaha When I am done clearing the driveway and the steps I always shovel off my entire deck so I can get to all of my toys.  What else is there to do besides smoke some good stuff all winter long when you are stuck inside all weekend.

We are right on the edge of the storm, nothing is falling yet. They're calling for an inch or so but that could change.

In the last blowing powdery snow, my offset got snow on it even though it's under a roof.

Our family has a long tradition of grilling steaks or burgers on a Weber, in January. Send the aroma through the neighborhood...

Good call on making Jerky Wish I had a snow blower.Depending on the amount of snow we get,my season may be over til spring

I hope you have been safe.

Disco thanks for the concern. We got 23 inches all totaled. Fortunately the power stayed on and the snow blower worked great. My house and patio are all set for cooking and my neighbors houses are all cleaned out. Now it's time to relax and watch that thin blue smoke:pepsi:

We got 28-30 inches where I live.  Going to take a few days for the smoker rescue effort to happen.  the drifts on some parts of my deck are 3.5-4 feet.
I won't see my yard getting clear any time soon, maybe another storm this weekend coming.

Wow, worktogthr, that is a impressive amount of equipment you have! Congrats on getting it all uncovered.
