I have not been on here in a long time.  I had some medical issues and now I have retired.(yay! more time for every thing)  I saw something about connecting a 5x8" Amaze-n pellet smoke box in a mailbox and connecting it to the hole that my chip tray fits in my MES30" smoker with some vent hose somewhere..

My question is, "will I need some sort of fan to drive/pull the smoke into the MES?   Sorry if I am covering ground that has been covered.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

I just did the mailbox mod with AMNPS for my MES 30. No fan needed. The heat rising up through the MES to the vent at the top will suck the smoke right out of the mailbox through the chip loader duct into the MES. It works great and is a very simple mod.

You may have to "warm" the MES to get a draft going....  the chimney effect etc.    and warm the meat also....
