Was at GFS and they had spare ribs at 1.69 a pound so I thought Papa John's delivers, why not. Rubbed the some brown sugar, season salt, dry mustard, pap and chili powder, wrapped and overnight in the fridge. This morning fired up the Smoke Hollow and pre heated to 250, ribs on down to 225 with hickory, here's hoping pizza isn't on the menu!

Looks like you're off to a good start!  At 225° with hickory smoke, you'll be in for quite a treat!

Keep us informed as to how it goes!

Also, when you get a moment or 2, go to your profile and fill out where you are and such.  That way folks that are in your area can provide specifics and such about any future inquiries.

Looks and sounds like a "win, win" situation.

Well, maybe not for Papa John's.

Sounds like you've set the bar high, for your next smoke.

Those look really tasty, DDavis! Try wrapping them in foil after 3 hours and cooking for a couple hours, then unfoiling to cook for the last hour. SWMBO will think she's died and gone to heaven...

Going to try the foil next time, just to see the difference, Wasn't that confident to try it the first time.

Maybe you should deliver, just like Papa John's.

I'll take a few racks up here in Boston..........

They look great - especially since this was your first time. My first try was inedible.

Great Job

Hey DD, I see several problems with this post.
  1. Your first ribs look way better than my first ribs did.
  2. Your Qview is way better than my qview.
  3. Ibelieve you should support the local Papa Johns (mainly because I'm jealous.
  4. I wasn't invited to dinner.
Great looking smoke, Sir!

to SMF Looks great for first time it becomes a personal preference as to whether you wrap or not I never do and from the looks of those ribs I don't know how to get any better. My .02 cents worth. Enjoy this great sight.

Thanks for all the kind words, I believe the people here are some of the kindest and knowledgeable on the web and I look forward to learning from all of you.
