I have been reading threads on this forum and found it interesting, informative and good-natured. From my handle javafool, obviously I am serious about good coffee and have been home roasting since 1997. I have found that my interest in outdoor cooking complements my coffee roasting hobby. I have a Weber smokey joe, Weber Genesis S-330, a Big Green Egg I bought about 8 years ago, and now a MES30 bluetooth. The MES is new from Home Depot, but all the others are well and often used.

Glad to be here!

Terry, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and bringing all your gear with you.  As a result of your first post I just spent 30 minutes looking at coffee roasters and figuring out how to make a coffee roaster for my gas grill rotisserie.  As a lifelong coffee fanatic I think you just gave me an idea for what my wife needs to get me for Christmas!

Enjoy the reading and we're glad you're here too!

Thanks for the welcome Ray. If you consider roasting on a grill, which quite a few people do, you will probably want a grill dedicated to coffee roasting. Also a word of warning ...... if you start roasting you will develop a serious problem in that the only place you will be able to get a good cup of coffee is at home.

Terry, thanks for the advice.  You made me laugh out loud because around here we all say the EXACT same thing about Q!

I feel another taste addiction coming on with coffee roasting.

Edit: My wife was traveling all week on business and got home LATE last night.  I just told her about roasting coffee at home and her face lit up like a kid at Christmas.  Terry, you just helped her fill out her Christmas list!
