Last night while reheating some ribs and chicken, I grabbed a vac pack of what I thought was Swedish potato sausage, and dropped it into the pot of water along with the ribs and chicken breast.
Well, it wasn't my potato sausage! When I do my potato sausage, I roll it into logs, wrap it in parchment paper, and then steam it until it's cooked through. I then freeze the log in the parchment paper, and then vac pack it for easy reheats. This sausage was packed just like that! As soon as I opened the vac pack I could smell breakfast sausage.
So, we had ribs, chicken and some breakfast sausage for supper last night! :biggrin:
I'm still amazed at how juicy the chicken breast is even after vac pack and freezing! That says a LOT about brining!
Since I cooked the sausage, I vac packed the left overs for this weekend.
I still have no clue why I packed that sausage like that since the only ones I do that way are potato. :Oops:
