Hello yall,

Im TexanBoog from Amarillo,TX. I just purchased my first smoker and I'm trying to learn my way around the basics of smoking ribs briskets and chicken.

Howdy TexasBoog, welcome to SMF!  Glad you are here and looking to learn what you can from all the friendly folks.  Don't be shy.  Share what kind of equipment you have and ask any questions that come to mind.  Someone with the same or similar gear will be able to help.

BTW, my wife grew up in Hereford.

Have fun!

Hello I'm Chris from central Missouri. I with a Brimkman electric. Then went to a masterbuilt 40 electric. But the wire's on back burned thru. So i just but a pit boss for $399 on sale.

Thanks NoBoundries I have a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker. Just got it seasoned this evening. Hoping to try some ribs in it later on this week.
Make sure to look through some of the Masterbuilt electric threads! My neighbor asked me to help him with his new Masterbuilt today because he likes what I've smoked on my offset recently. I know nothing about electric smokers so all my of advice/guidance came from here! He nailed a pulled pork with Jeff's finishing sauce. It's going to nice having more smokers in the neighborhood!
