I have replaced the thermostat with a Auber dual probe PID.  I was wondering if anyone could help me with the maximum safe temperature for the element/box.  It is a 700w element and I just want to take it to 325 if I need to.  Any inputs?

Please note the factory control is limited to 250°.

I would be surprised if this unit did not have a safety device to turn off the heater should the primary thermostat stick. You may or may not have removed it from the circuit. I would want an over temp safety in my circuit.

Does this unit have foam insulation between the inner and outer panel. I think 325° is hotter than I would get foam in know and untested foam.

I put a PID on my MES and set the upper limit at 300°.

I believe that the smokin tex has high temp spun glass insulation like smokin-it and cookshack. Not foam.
