Ok - so while I have had some excellent smoked meats from an electric smoker, I've never even been tempted to own one.  I am an old-fashioned stick, fire, smoke guy who is slowly accumulating enough iron to build a smoker (have the propane tanks and a few other bits).

BUT - its been around 100 degrees here of late and I've missed smoked foods - but I just don't get much thrill building a fire and keeping watch over my firebox when its like that.

Then along comes a local guy who buys truckloads of factory blems/returns/defectives/etc, repairs 'em and sells them.  And he got some smokers in...

Got a 40" Masterbuilt digital smoker (black) - for $80!  It's been used maybe once and it looks like someone got stupid with some oven cleaner... both inside and out. LOL  BUT - the thing works like a charm - and he gives it a warranty.

Anyway - did up some country style ribs and a pork butt yesterday for its inaugural run.  Love being able to set the temp + time, and only come out every so often to put some chips in the firebox feeder.  Oh man... those country style ribs were YUMMY!  The butt is for tonight.

Anyone have one of these and want to share any inside knowledge or advice?

Get yourself something like the Amazin Pellet Smoker (AMNPS) and you can pretty much set it and forget it.  They tray will easily smoke for 6 to 10 hours.  That way, you don't have to keep feeding it.

But I just got this one! LOL.

feeding this one isn't bad. The little chip holder doesn't hold much, but it smokes quite a while. Very "wood efficient"!

Any more smoker hardware for the foreseeable future will be towards he parts to do my build project.

I completely misunderstood.... Just looked it up. Cool. I will look into that.
