Looks Awesome!!!! Have you ever done a whole prime rib??? I am in charge when it comes to whole prime rib but I always do it in the oven . Guess I am a chicken when it comes to experimenting with a $100.00 plus piece of meat!!!

A smoker is just a oven.

Yep yep.

Paul, talk to the guys behind the butcher counter next time ribeye is on sale and ask them for a smallish 3 bone rib roast (with or without the bone).   Use that for your first cook instead of a whole loin.

Yes, I'v done oven, rotisserie and grill. I will always do them in the smoker now. This was not my first one but it was the best one I'v ever done. Same way with turkey. Family and friends always request that I do the turkey for Thanksgiving and Rib Roast for xmas. I follow Bearcarver's step by step and always had an awesome dinner using pellets and dust from Amazen Products.

Sorry I missed this post.

Very little difference doing a 5 pound PR than a 16 pound PR.

Not even much difference in time, because it's the thickness that matters, not the weight.
